Community blogs offering your perspectives on the research that matters to you

PLOS has been working with Medium to create some new custom PLOS domains. These individual ‘publications’ (using Medium’s nomenclature for a single site on its platform) will have a PLOS Web domain name while using the Medium blogging platform. As a group we’re calling these publications PLOS Community Field Reports. Each PLOS Field Report Community is a venue for researchers working in a single discipline to comment — at any length — on new research articles. Researchers will also use this venue to pool blog and Twitter coverage of key conferences in their disciplines, such as was done for PLOS Neuro Community blog coverage of SfN14.

These sites include, so far, PLOS Neuro and PLOS Comp Biology, PLOS Ecology, PLOS Synbio, and, yet to come, PLOS Paleo.
